Spring is here!!

Flowers, insects, animals, warmer days..... are here because it is Spring time. Students learn about insects and their importance.

Reading cards

Students read a text about insects to learn about these incredible animals. Then, they will answer the questions and read the text again using the reading cards. It is a funny activity students love. It provides opportunity to reread the text using different intonation and pronunciation.

Lap books about biographies.

For this lesson students work on past simple tense. They create their lap books about famous people in the history.
  1. First, students in groups, read a text about the biography of a famous person. 
  2. Then, they underline the most important information.
  3. Thirdly, students take decisions about the most important information and write it in the biography search template. It is necessary to write the information in past tense.
  4. Finally, they create their lap books.

Challenge: comic

Watch this tutorial video about creating comics using Toondoo, and create your own comic.
  • Watch the video.
  • Register on Toondoo.
  • Choose your layout.
  • Create your comic ( backgrounds, characters, objects, dialogues...)
  • Share it with the teacher . Send it by mail.
For 5th level students: 
  • They create a comic story  about animals. 
For 6th level students:
  • They create a story  using past simple tense.

It´s Spring time and the landscape is changing : flowers, green grass, white clouds, animals... appear around!!
What can you see through the window? This is the question students have to answer in their drawings.

Group of experts

Instructions:
  • Each student read a text about some specific animal group ( mammals, amphibians, reptiles, birds and fish)
  • Then, they have time to underline the most important information . They use markers and they also can take notes
  • Thirdly, students sit down in group of experts, with those who read about the same animals
  • They talk and write about the most important facts about the animals
  • Finally, they create the following crafts about their animals.

Animals games


Today, in speaking class, 5th level students talk about animals:
  • First, they play "Which animal am I?" using animals flashcards.
  • Second, they play a  comparative competition game in pairs using the same animal flascards.
  • Finally, they play a boardgame with questions about animals.








Speaking class: playing with past simple tense

Past simple tense can be quite difficult for kids to be used. Irregular verbs are not easy to learn, so we try to provide funny activities to help our students in their hard work.
In this lesson, 6th level students play different games to learn about irregular verbs and how to use the past simple.

  • First, they play a memory game just to practice with the present and past of the irregular verbs.
  • Second, they play a board game about irregular verbs.
  • Finally, they use question cards for them to use the verbs in sentences.

Today, students learn about adjectives and comparisons.
  1. First, they identify adjectives in a sentence.
  2. Then, they write as many adjectives as they know.
  3. Finally, they learn how to compare animals, people, objects or places.

5th level students work on adjectives using these worksheets.

Students watch this video and check how irregular verbs are used in past simple tense.

Challenge: Creating QR

5th level students

This is a very simple challenge. Students create QR codes about their favorite animals.
Instructions:
  1. Which animal do you like?
  2. Go to Google and write QR code generator
  3. Write a short text about your animal and generate the QR code. 
  4. Send it to the teacher´s mail.
  5. That´s all!!

6th level students

Create a QR code using regular verbs to write sentences about past.
  1. Write 8 sentences.
  2. Use these verbs to write the sentences in past: played, talked, walked, phoned, cried, washed, jumped, cleaned.
  3. Use adverbs of time such as:  yesterday, last week, last month, two days ago....
  4. Revise your sentences and check them.
  5. When you finish it, send your QR code to the teacher´s mail.

Animals art

5th level students continue learning about animals. In this activity students create a beautiful art picture using drawing, silhouettes and colors.








Tissue paper art

Students use tissue papers to create beautiful art creations about Nature. It is an activity which provides creativity and technique. They have enjoyed a lot watering their papers :)

ETEN Project Meeting

Today, teacher Eugenio visits our school. He brings fantastic activities about animals:
  • 6th level students create their own zoos.
  • And 5th level students create their fantastic animals.
Students love creative activities. They can use the foreign language in a meaningful context. A great experience!!!
