Hoy somos noticia

El periódico "La verdad" edita un reportaje sobre colegios y experiencias educativas innovadoras. El aula de inglés aparece como muestra de esas experiencias con una imagen de nuestros alumnos creando su programa de radio y utilizando la gammificación en el aula. Es un reportaje a doble página  donde se trasladan las palabras de la maestra y otros maestros de diferentes centros sobre la revolución pedagógica que se está llevando a cabo en nuestra región .

Challenge 23: Which is your favorite animal?

Students write about their favorite animals in the collaborative wall.

Instructions:


  • Think about an animal
  • Click on the Padlet wall and write your name and class
  • Write about its  general characteristics
  • Write about its physical description
  • Write about its diet
  • Write about its habitat and location.
  • Write about its abilities
  • Write about some extra information
  • Then, upload a good image of your animal 
  • When you finish, click and play animals games 

Podcast 6

Students write scripts about all contents and things they have learnt during these two weeks.
They create their own radio podcast and they are great experts now.

Students learn about animals habitats and create a science book using cooperative strategies.

Art and craft: creating our suitcases for our ideal trips


Once students decide their ideal trips, they will have to create their suitcases. Each group, will need the following materials:


  • a box of shoes 
  • wrapped paper
  • craft papers
  • scissors
  • glue
  • colours
  • passports
  • stickers
  • imagination







Which animals are hidden in these QR codes?

Students use a QR  code reader to discover which animals are hidden in the map.
They are very strange animals.




These animals are alive!!

Children use Chatter Pix to make their stuffed animals speak. They talk about their characteristics. It is really funny!!

Our ideal trip

The students of 6th level , in groups, take decisions about how their ideal trips are. They will talk about :


  • destination
  • weather
  • the best season to travel
  • means of transport
  • items to bring in their suitcases and luggage
  • important documents they need
  • activities they are going to do
  • lodging
  • places and monuments to visit....



When they take all the necessary decisions , the members of the group will write a text about their ideal trip using the future tense. They will write the text using the cooperative strategie "lápices al centro"

Learning about animals with AR

We use Zookazam to learn about animals : their characteristics, diets, habitats... Children complete some information in their white boards using this app. Children love AR!!

Writing: a strange animal!!

Students of 5th level create funny animals using the following website. They take decisions and talk about the new animals .

Once they have practiced how to describe an animal,  they can write about some strange animals the teacher are going to give them.

Challenge 22: Mind map


In this challenge, students create mind maps about animals classifications using the app POPPLET

INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. First, decide how you are going to classiffy animals
  2. Second, go to Popplet  website and register
  3. Thirdly, create a new Popplet with the title  "ANIMALS"
  4. Organise and classify animals in different categories
  5. You can write as many animals as you can . Be sure you write with the correct spelling.
  6. You can also include multimedia elements such as: videos, images...
  7. Finally, share your mind map with the teacher by mail ( pelesa2@hotmail.com)

Art and crafts about animals ( 5th level)


Instructions:
  • Each student read a text about some specific animal group ( mammals, amphibians, reptiles, birds and fish)
  • Then, they have time to underline the most important information . They use markers and they also can take notes
  • Thirdly, students sit down in group of experts, with those who read about the same animals
  • They talk and write about the most important facts about the animals
  • Finally, they create the following crafts about their animals.

Animals around the World

Students start learning about animals : vocabulary, descriptions, animals in danger...
During this unit students are going to do some amazing activities such as: cooperative activities, scavengers about animals, projects ....

Let´s start!!






First, watch the video and repeat the vocabulary. 
Then, in groups, complete this animals alphabet. Write as many letters as you can

When you finish this activity, try to think how you can classify animals and create a mind map. Knowing our students previos knowledges.

Learning about flight

Learning about how to travel by plane is very important for our students. This week we are going to focus our attention about it:

  • First, children will listen a podcast about an airport information

How is your ideal boy or girl?

This is a cooperative activity where students have to take decisions about their ideal girls or boys. They think about : his/ her body ; his/ her hair, age, abilities, likes, hobbies...

When they complete the chart , then they will draw him or her including all the information in the picture. At the end, they will introduce their girls and boys to the rest of the classmates.
