Challenge : Happy summer holidays

School year has finished. It´s time to enjoy our summer holidays and have a great time with our families and friends. It is time to say goodbye to  teachers  and wait for next school year.

Art in our notebooks

To end up the school year, our students collect all their class works, worksheets, .... and collect them in their folders and portfolios.

To decorate them, 6th level students use their photos and some decorations on them.

          

 

All you need is ... ETEN!

School year is ending and today we´ve had a great activity: II Interschools meeting.

Our 6th level students have visited La Hoya school to met their partners in the project ETEN and they have enjoyed a lot of different activities and games.

Challenge: Writing emails

In this challenge, students have to write an e-mail to the teacher talking about the following aspects:

• Complete the subject/asunto of the mail with the main idea of your email.
• In the first paragraph, introduce yourself: name, age, description (physical and personality)
• Second, write about your likes and dislikes.
• Then, write about your pets and your favorite animal.
• Finally, ask 3 questions to the teacher and say goodbye.

• How do they feel?
• What do you think they were doing just before they were portrayed?

Giving directions with Beebot

Students ask for and give directions to talk about animals. They use the Beebot and they love it.

Challenge: creating maps

Students are learning about giving directions and talk about places. This challenge gives them the  opportunity to create their own maps using Google maps tool.

1. First, go to this web and learn about important places in your city. https://www.murciaturistica.es/en/lorca/
2. Now, watch the tutorial video as many times you need.
3. Third, go to your google map and create a map.
4. Then, choose at least 5 different places in your city.
5. Write a short text about each place and add an image.
6. When you finish, share with your teacher by mail or just sharing from the webpage.

Adapting classical tales

Students adapt classical tales using a collaborative activity in which they have to show their creativity, and their level of  English.
First, they take decisions with their group mates and then, they organize the information they want to develop.
Finally, they write a tale using present or past simple.

5th level students play trivial game about animals. They show how much they know about anima kingdom...

Group of experts

Students participate in a collaborative activity about famous people using "group of experts" technique. First, they read information about a person and create posters about him or her.

As we are learning about "Around the World in 80 days" it is very important to talk about directions, cities... Let´s learn about it and practice!!

How much do you know about animals?

Students classify animals and complete a chart about their information. When they finish to complete their chart, they can check their information with a classmate to add or correct it. At the end, we will correct all together.

Challenge: writing stories

In this challenge,  our students are going to write beautiful stories using Storybird.
Follow the instructions:

• Sign up in storybird.
• Click on "create" and choose the art you like.
• Create a cover.
• Then, write a story using at least 4 pages.
• When you finish, save your story.

• Finally, share your story link with the teacher by mail. Copy and paste the link in the email. Write your name and class.

Cooperative work

Students, using 1-2- 4 cooperative technique, write about animals, their habitats, their diets... They have a lot of previous knowledge about it but with the help of their friends they can add much more information.
